The Fantom Magnetic Doorstop Is the Best Way to Prop Open Your Door

In my very humble opinion, doorstops are an absolute pain. There...I said it. The reality is, even the super chic and functional ones have to be kicked back and forth and placed in just the right spot to actually work and more often than not, they're tripping, toe-stubbing traps.

So, when I learned of Fantom's Magnetic Hidden Doorstop, one you don't have to kick or bend over to adjust constantly, I was instantly sold. It's an easy-to-install, magnetic device that goes into the bottom of the door and a sinker hole in the floor to prop any door open with a simple magnet, nothing to trip over, and certainly not an eyesore—because you can barely even see it.

For just under $25, the Fantom doorstop can reportedly be used on any floor surface, including (but not limited to) hardwood, carpet, tile, concrete, and laminate and can stop doors of any weight. In order for the magnet to have its strongest hold, they recommend the gap between the underside of your door and the floor is between four and ten millimeter.

Though the stop is concealed when the door is open, it looks like a little button on the floor when the door is shut, so it comes in multiple different colors to best match your floor or aesthetic. Colors include silver, gold, black, white, and even clear (to really keep it out of sight, out of mind.)
